The Truth Why Climbers Keep Dying on Everest
Переглядів 22 тис.Рік тому
Summiting Everest was once the holy grail of mountaineering. And to many it still is, as more people are making the attempt than ever. Not everyone who tries the climb makes it home, but why? Here's why Everest is claiming so many lives. Mount Everest is more than 29,000 feet tall, which might make you think most victims of the mountain die by falling. But that's only the second most common cau...

Glad it ended up just being a scare! And I concur with everything that's said about the Sherpas here. Without them, Scaling Mount Everest wouldn't be possible for many. If I ever scale that mountain, I'd spit with them.

Everest is probably going to be regulated... To many dead bodies on this mountain. The ethical and morality of these expeditions is in the very bright 🔆 spotlight. They will probably start limiting climbers, because it's the quantity that is still causing so many deaths. Time and speed is the deciding factor if you make it to the summit. They have to limit the numbers.

Everest has become a tourist attraction, a fairground ride that ppl queue up for, i think that's so sad and the primary cause of the most recent accident, that shelf couldn't hold the weight of all those ppl.

I'm not a climber/mountaineer so it is impossible for me to understand their mindset. I can't imagine volunteering to endure the hardships necessary just to stand on the top of a mountain for a minute or two, risking everything for it. Makes no sense to me.

If you died today do you know if you'd go to heaven? I beseech you not to ignore this message, where you spend eternity depends on it Gospel of Jesus Christ You must understand and accept that you are a sinner, as we all are "FOR ALL HAVE SINNED, AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD." (ROMANS 3:23) "AS IT IS WRITTEN, THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO, NOT ONE." (ROMANS 3:10) The penalty for sin is the second death, which is an eternity in the lake of fire Revelation 20:14 KJV - And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. The good news is Jesus Christ paid the sin debt you owe You must accept that Jesus Christ has already paid your sin debt "FOR WHEN WE WERE YET WITHOUT STRENGTH, IN DUE TIME CHRIST DIED FOR THE UNGODLY." (ROMANS 5:6) "BUT GOD COMMENDETH HIS LOVE TOWARD US, IN THAT, WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US." (ROMANS 5:8) Christ was not a sinner, and the Bible teaches that God took all of our sin and placed it on Christ. While Christ was bearing all of our sins in his own body, God punished him in our place to pay the sin debt that we owe. "HE HATH MADE HIM TO BE SIN FOR US, WHO KNEW NO SIN; THAT WE MIGHT BE MADE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM." (2 COR 5:21) The Bible says that Jesus "WAS DELIVERED FOR OUR OFFENCES AND WAS RAISED AGAIN FOR OUR JUSTIFICATION." (ROM 4:25) You must believe what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross. The word believe means to trust, to depend on, to rely on. To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ means that you accept the fact that you are a sinner, that as a sinner you owe a sin debt, and that Jesus Christ died on the cross for all your sins on the cross, that he was buried and that he rose again to pay the debt you owe. "THEREFORE BEING JUSTIFIED BY FAITH, WE HAVE PEACE WITH GOD THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST: BY WHOM ALSO WE HAVE ACCESS BY FAITH INTO THIS GRACE WHEREIN WE STAND, AND REJOICE IN THE HOPE OF THE GLORY OF GOD." (ROM 5:1-2) "IN WHOM (JESUS) WE HAVE REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD, THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS, ACCORDING TO THE RICHES OF HIS GRACE." (EPH 1:7) If you trust what Christ did for you, you are redeemed, justified, forgiven. Jesus Christ did all the work for your salvation, you cannot work to keep it, and you cannot lose it. "FOR BY GRACE ARE YE SAVED THROUGH FAITH, AND THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES, IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD, NOT OF WORKS, LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST." (EPH 2:8-9) "BEING JUSTIFIED FREELY BY HIS GRACE THROUGH THE REDEMPTION THAT IS IN CHRIST JESUS:" (ROMANS 3:24) "NOT BY WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH WE HAVE DONE, BUT ACCORDING TO HIS MERCY HE SAVED US, BY THE WASHING OF REGENERATION, AND RENEWING OF THE HOLY GHOST; WHICH HE SHED ON US ABUNDANTLY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR SAVIOR; THAT BEING JUSTIFIED BY HIS GRACE, WE SHOULD BE MADE HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE." (TITUS 3: 5-7) Today if you trust Jesus Christ, that he died for your sins, was buried and rose again, you are sealed for eternity "IN WHOM YE TRUSTED, AFTER THAT YE HEARD THE WORD OF TRUTH, THE GOSPEL OF YOUR SALVATION: IN WHOM ALSO AFTER THAT YE BELIEVED, YE WERE SEALED WITH THAT HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE." (EPH 1:13) Get your eternal destiny settled today, trust in your heart what Jesus Christ did for you!

This doesn't begin to tell the story of two competing guide business leaders. Each one with a journalist among their clients, ready to tell the world of their summit success - or failure. Each desperate for that publicity and fearfully that it would go to the other. Tell me that influenced none of their decisions.

As someone who's grown up in the dolomites in a village not too far away from him, I have always heard about Messner here and there. I occasionally saw him on the street, visited his museums on school trips or heard someone casually bring up his hikes in conversation. But never really grasped the scale of his achievements/struggles. However watching this - It puts everything in such a different perspective. To hear some of my own regions history, told from his own experience, has been really touching. It makes so much sense hearing him talk about his upbringing and approach to climbing and his life. What an Impressive, breathtaking, inspirational and uplifting being.
